Entry control

Understand a rejected ticket scan

Use the result and validation log to identify the issue before allowing entry.

Before you start

Keep the event, selected date and validator assignment in view. A scan result is a reason to check the record, not to override the event’s admission rules.

What to do

  1. Read the result first

Valid Ticket shows the ticket holder and type. Already Scanned, also listed as Already Validated in reports, points to an earlier validation. Check the previous time and entrance with the event manager rather than repeatedly scanning the ticket.

  2. Match the reason to the setup

For Invalid Event Date, compare ticket and event dates. For Not Found, confirm the code, event and ticket import. For Unauthorized Ticket Type, ask a manager to review the validator’s scope. For Outside Validation Time, check the Admission & Validation window rather than changing ticket data.

  3. Use the log and ticket details

Open Validation Log and search the ticket code. In the manager app, Logs and Log details show the result, validator, method and scan time. Ticket details shows the event date and validation status. Use those details to explain the next action.

Keep in mind

A refunded order’s tickets are Cancelled and no longer valid for entry.

If the issue remains unclear, capture the ticket code, result, event date and time for the manager or support. Follow the event’s admission policy while it is investigated.
